Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 July 2026

Controller: Alvey Group Ltd (trading as Pest Intel)

How we think about privacy

Simple: We only collect data we need to run your service.

Safe: We protect your data with technical and organisational controls.

Straight: We don’t sell your personal data.

In your control: You can request access, correction, or deletion at any time.

1) Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to visitors, customers, and users of:

  • (legacy) https://pest-intel-site.vercel.app
  • Pest Intel software, onboarding flows, and support channels

2) What data we collect

Account and contact data: name, email, business/site details, subscription status.

Service data: monitoring points, pest activity logs, notes, photos/evidence, triage requests, inspection history.

Technical data: device/browser details, IP, authentication events, security logs.

Billing data: payment and subscription metadata from Stripe (we do not store full card details).

3) Why we use your data (lawful bases)

  • Contract: to provide Pest Intel services, reports, and support.
  • Legitimate interests: service improvement, fraud prevention, and platform security.
  • Legal obligations: accounting, tax, and compliance records.
  • Consent: where required (e.g., non-essential communications/cookies).

4) How we use your data

  • Create and manage accounts and access permissions
  • Deliver monitoring, triage, reporting, and scheduling features
  • Send critical service emails (e.g., login links, alerts, billing notices)
  • Detect abuse, secure the platform, and troubleshoot issues

Public product and signup pages increment aggregated daily funnel counters for page stage, selected plan, sanitised campaign attribution, and successful checkout value. These growth counters do not store email addresses, visitor IDs, IP-derived identifiers, full URLs, or raw per-visitor browsing histories. Security rate limiting is handled separately as technical data.

4A) Direct marketing

We may contact business customers and business contacts about Pest Intel where this is allowed by law. For electronic marketing, we apply the corporate-subscriber rules, consent, or a valid soft opt-in as appropriate. Where we process a named business contact's personal data, our UK GDPR lawful basis is normally legitimate interests or consent.

  • We do not knowingly send unsolicited electronic marketing to sole traders or individual subscribers unless consent or a valid soft opt-in applies.
  • Where business contact details come from a public source, we keep the source and relevance under review and provide this privacy information.
  • Every marketing email identifies Alvey Group Ltd and provides a valid way to opt out.
  • We keep a suppression list so that people and businesses who opt out are not added back to later campaigns.

On the checkout form, you may optionally ask us to send one reminder if you do not finish payment. This box is unticked by default. If selected, we record the choice and send no more than one checkout reminder after confirming with Stripe that payment is still incomplete. The email includes an automatic opt-out link.

You can object to direct marketing at any time by emailing info@pestintel.co.uk. Where personal data is involved, the right to object to direct marketing is absolute.

5) Data sharing

We share data only when needed to run the service, including:

  • Supabase (authentication/database/storage)
  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Stripe (payments/subscriptions)
  • Brevo (transactional email delivery)
  • Delivery carriers (delivery and tracking for paid physical orders)

We require processors to handle data securely and only on our instructions.

6) International transfers

Where data is processed outside the UK, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required.

7) Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections, role-based permissions, audit logging, and environment-level secret management. No system is 100% risk-free, but we work continuously to reduce risk.

Finalised inspection records are written to the operational record store and, where Supabase service storage is configured, copied to a separate private, non-overwriting archive. Record reads and customer exports can recover from that archive if the operational copy is unavailable.

Private app pages and API responses are not retained in the offline browser cache. Signing out clears locally stored Pest Intel drafts and app caches for that account on the device. Customers using a shared device should sign out when they finish.

8) Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for service delivery, legal obligations, and legitimate business purposes. Routine service records are normally retained for the active subscription term and up to 6 years afterwards where needed for audit, accounting, dispute, or legal defence purposes.

  • Account/subscription records: normally up to 6 years after the customer relationship ends
  • Monitoring records, activity logs, reports, and evidence/media: normally up to 6 years after account closure unless a shorter deletion request can be honoured
  • Auth/security logs: normally up to 24 months unless needed for fraud prevention, security investigation, or auditability
  • Checkout and abandoned signup records: normally up to 24 months unless converted into an active account or needed for legal/accounting reasons

9) Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you can request:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of your data
  • Restriction or objection to processing
  • Data portability

You may also complain to the UK ICO if you believe your data rights are infringed.

10) Cookies

We use essential cookies for login/session and service operation. See our Cookie Policy.

10A) Data access and export

Signed-in customers can download a site-specific copy of their setup, visit history, immutable signed inspection records, and starter-kit status from Reports > More options > Export site data. If billing is inactive, the same site-specific retained-record export remains available from the billing screen without reopening check entry. For an account-level access, deletion, correction, or portability request beyond that self-service export, contact us and we will respond in line with applicable law.

11) Children

Pest Intel is a business service and is not intended for children under 16.

12) Contact

Email: info@pestintel.co.uk

Phone support is available where included in the selected plan or agreed in writing.

13) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
